[Recent Project] Putney - Remote Control Single Swing Gate System
Installed October 2016
Suburb: Putney
Design: 65mm Horizontal Metal Slats with a 65mm Gap
Powder Coat Colour: Ironstone
Objective – to install a remote control swing gate system that will give privacy whilst maintaining the maximum driveway width for vehicles.
Our client had an existing “pair” of swing driveway gates that were clad with timber horizontal slats.
The timber slats had deteriorated over the years and looked worn and in disrepair.
As the gates were a “pair” they encroached on each side of the driveway greatly reducing the opening width of the driveway for vehicles to pass through.
Working with our client we designed a single swing driveway gate in 65mm horizontal metal slats with a 10mm gap.
This design provided great privacy, whilst the 10mm gaps allows the breeze to pass through the driveway gate.
As this gate is located at the end of a long narrow driveway we recommended against having it solid clad as the long driveway would act as a wind tunnel in high winds which could damage the automation system.
The idea of the “single swing gate” was to only encroach on one side of the driveway allowing increased clearance for vehicles.
The controls were located past the gate rather than behind the gate to allow the gate to open into the fully open position once again ensuring the client had the maximum width for vehicles to enter and exit the property.
The result is a gate system that looks great and requires no maintenance, themetal slats are powder coated so they will not require ongoing maintenance that the timber slats previously required and they provide privacy with only a small 10mm gap.
The ‘KUA40’ Automation System is reliable, fast and provides the ideal opening to give the client maximum clearance in the driveway.
