Client brief: to provide an automatic gate system that will provide privacy and reliability

Technician report:

  • We have installed an automatic driveway gate system that provides total privacy whilst taking into consideration the site conditions.
  • The gate is installed in Monterey which is exposed to the salt air so we have constructed the gate in aluminium 65mm slats with a powdercoated finish (powdercoat colour: Pearl White), the aluminium slats are better suited to this site than steel slats which would rust over time due to the salt air
  • The 65mm aluminium slats have been butted against each other to give our client complete privacy
  • We have mounted the operator higher in this installation rather than lower, as the gate operator can now be easily accessed for manual opening in case of a power black out or break down, if the motor was mounted on the bottom rail as per our normal installation it would be difficult to access the operator in these circumstances
  • Our client has been provided with key ring remote controls which allow easy operation at the push of a button
